Affordable Honor X5b leaked online

Ana sayfa / Smartphones

Honor is getting ready to add a new member to its affordable smartphone lineup. The new device, called the Honor X5b, has surfaced on the Google Play Console today, suggesting that the phone’s launch is imminent. The listing sheds light on the phone’s design and some of its key features.

According to the information on the Google Play Console listing, the Honor X5b carries the model number GFY-LX2P. The images show that the phone features a waterdrop-shaped notch on the front, albeit a bit outdated by now. The bezels, especially the lower bezel, called the bottom chin, are quite thick, suggesting that the phone is more focused on functionality than a modern design.

At its heart, the Honor X5b packs an entry-level chipset, the MediaTek Helio G36. While this chipset offers enough performance for everyday tasks and light gaming, it’s not ideal for intensive apps or graphically demanding games. The phone also has 4GB of RAM, which means that multitasking performance can be a bit hitchy when multi-tab browsing or switching between apps.

GTA-like police game The Precinct on the way

The Precinct, a police-themed open-world game with GTA-style gameplay, will be offered as part of Steam Next Fest.

On the software side, the Honor X5b will run the latest Android 14 operating system out of the box. This will give users access to the latest software features and security updates. The screen resolution is listed as 720×1620 pixels, but the panel technology used is not specified. However, considering the other technical specifications and the general positioning of the phone, we can assume that it is probably an LCD display.

Honor launched the X6b model in June, which is quite similar in design to the X5b. The X6b was powered by the Helio G85 chipset. Therefore, as the name suggests, the X5b is expected to be positioned just below the X6b in Honor’s product portfolio and offered as a more affordable option.
